Sightseeing
Just a quick 15 minute drive from Concord's shops, pubs, and theaters, Canterbury offers a quiet respite. Enjoy the fall leaf peeping opportunities, brewery, distillery, smoke house, and various artisans dotting our rural roads. Each Wednesday the Town Center hosts the Canterbury Community Farmers Market from 4-6:30. The last Saturday of July is the town's fair and March offers the Maple Moon and the delicious sugaring season. We have occasional antique markets and town-wide yard sales. The roads offer a wide array of routes for bicyclists and there are plenty of trails for hikers. Even with so much to see and do in Canterbury, it is a little more than an hour to Portsmouth and the sea coast...the same distance to the amazing White Mountains.
Canterbury, NH is a quintessential New England village. When you stop at the one stop sign as you come into town, you'll find a church, cemetery, historical society, library, US Post Office, and general store. Less seems to be more here, as it is the people that make up our special community.
With a distillery and a Nano-brewery; orchards and organic farms; traditional golf course and disc golf; artists and craftsman; smokehouse and sugar shacks, all dotting our rural country side....there is something for everyone.
Bring your bike, your skis, your hiking boots, and for sure your camera.
