This is my personal favourite when it comes to.. meat. It's a chain, so don't expect anything out of the ordinary, but it does have lovely Egyptian-inspired decor, and their shoarma is first-class (I daydream about it sometimes).

This is the best restaurant with a view in Gdansk. You go to the green skyscraper ("Zieleniak") and take the lift to one of the highest floors. The views over the shipyard and the old town are amazing, and the food is fantastic as well!

Warning, this is not a "posh" restaurant. This place is a "Bar Mleczny", one of the last remaining places that serve traditional Polish fast food dishes. These joints date back to socialist times. Don't expect anything fancy, apart from yummy food and amazing value for money.

This venue has brilliant decor inside, with a charming conservatory extension that's fully glass and overlooks the garden. Prices are reasonable for a very high standard of food and service. It is "a bit more fancy" but still friendly, and accommodates vegans. Outstanding assortment of wines

This is a gem of a tea/coffee shop. They have an amazing collection of flavoured teas and coffees that you can drink inside in lovely cups surrounded with a quaint decor. They go back a long time with a proud tradition. Also a lovely selection of cakes and chocolate-covered fruit that you can eat in or buy to go.

I recommend you walk 10 minutes to Długie Pobrzeże (the pier at the Motława river) and take a ferry to Westerplatte. It takes about an hour to get there but you travel through the docks and through the shipyard, seeing massive ships up close which I find amazing. Westerplatte has beaches and a WW2 memorial hill which you can climb and there's a good view. There are two types of ferries that go there, one looks like an old ship which is quite fun and unusual to travel on but it's also quite noisy with live music. The other type is just a normal commuter clipper boat, not as fun looking but arguably the views are better (fewer obstructions) and less noise. Timetables are printed at the pier.

Drinks & Nightlife
This is THE place to go for drinks! Also, it is located in the very house you're staying in! You'll need to walk around the building though, as the entrance is in the main road. This is a brewery and they make their own beer. They have many levels including a really cool cellar. Friendly service.

A nice park that is at the heart of Oliwa. It's quite far from the Old Town, as Oliwa used to be a separate town in the middle ages. If you're planning to explore that part of Gdansk, you should plan for at least half a day there, as the Park is not the only attraction.
