Sightseeing
Atop of Soames hill are several beautiful view points overlooking Gibsons marina, Keats and Bowen Island. There is also an off-leash dog park and trails at Chamberlin rd., Gibsons. From there, you can walk
down Esperanza rd., or along the trails towards Soames hill. It’s a much shorter distance up the hill when taking the stairs to the left. About a 15 min hike one way.

Favourite Beaches
Also nicknamed Flume beach. There is a grassy field and half a dozen picnic tables, water and a public toilet. At low tide, this beach turns into a huge sandy beach. You’ll spot White Islets from here. Easy to on/offload paddle boards or kayaks, as there is a road going down close to the water.

This lake access is worth the 45 min drive from Roberts Creek. The sandy beach turns the fresh lake water into a turquoise colour rivalling Hawaiian waters. The lake is more temperate to swim in than the ocean. It’s a small beach access and it’s popular for good reason, so maybe go early to find the best shady spots. There is a toilet facility and picnic tables.
