Best BBQ in the nation. Massive caveat is that you have to get there at 7 am and wait several hours to get your food. It's a family owned small batch joint but worth the wait.

Go because it's pretty and its in the center of town. Lots to see while you walk. And you can rent a canoe, kayak, or SUP board there too. Easiest place to do that is near Austin High School at the Texas Rowing Center.

Go watch the bats fly out from under the Congress Street bridge. They come out just after dusk and are looking for mosquitoes, so it needs to be hot out. If they don't come out at dusk, don't wait there forever. Sometimes, they just don't fly. It is the most beautiful and awe inspiring sight when they fly. Truly not to be missed!
