Traveler advice
Getting around
Thirsk train station is a 30min walk
Direct trains include Northallerton (8min), York (16min), Manchester (1h39m), London (2h13m).
From Northallerton a direct train to Newcastle takes just 45min.
Getting around
KA taxis - they accept dogs
A taxi to/from the railway station will be around £5. We recommend you book your taxi in advance.
We have always found KA to be reliable but note that if you call a taxi in Thirsk, your booking may be passed on to another company, so it doesn’t really matter which taxi number you call!
What to pack
Bring a rain coat!
North Yorkshire can have very changeable weather! If you are bringing your dog/enjoy walking, you may find wellies/walking boots, or at least walking trainers very helpful.
