Locally situated on the outskirts of Mareeba. Wonderful spot for sightseeing and a picnic. The rock wallabies are friendly and enjoy receiving a treat from visitors. There are swimming holes where you can cool off.

Chillagoe is a remote inland mining township. Geologists located dinosaur bones in and around Chillagoe. They are on display in the community Chillagoe Hub. Chillagoe has caves open to the public via a Tour Guide. The caves have amazing crystal and superb stalagmites and stalactites. There are 2 pubs where you can be entertained by local characters and have a Far North Queensland pub meal. Chillagoe is an approximate 2 hour drive from Mareeba.
