short walk from the apartment!
The very unusual Rue des Eaux (it gets its name from the Passy iron-rich mineral spring discovered in the vicinity in the 18th century) has often served as a filming location. It leads to Rue Raynouard, the location of Balzac’s house, now a museum. The writer moved into the house in 1840 to escape his creditors. The house’s second entrance on the picturesque Rue Berton enabled him to go out without being spotted.

Traveler advice
What to pack
Bring your most comfortable walking shoes!
You don't want to be distracted from the beauty of Paris :)
Customs and culture
Tipping
Tipping is France is not expected but certainly is appreciated. Service charge is included in the bill. If you want to leave a tip (pourboire), you can always leave few euros
Customs and culture
Est-ce que vous parlez Anglais?
Lots of people do speak English in Paris. It's better to ask "Est-ce que vous parlez Anglais?" before speaking English to someone.
Customs and culture
Bonjour! Au revoir!
It's customary to always say "Bonjour" when you enter into a small shop, restaurant, cafe etc. Before leaving, please say "Au revoir" . This will be very much appreciated :)
Getting around
Public transportation
Public transportation is excellent in Paris (when there is no strike of course). It's also a very walkable city
Getting around
Transportation options from CDG airport
Please note that you could use several options for public transportation to and from the airport. We believe that the easiest one is the Rossy bus
If you want to take a taxi from the airport, please use an official taxi stand and note that taxi fairs are fixed for left bank and right bank (we are on a right bank)
Check for the most up to date info on the airport official website. Bon voyage :)
Customs and culture
What time is dinner?
Please note most French restaurants serve lunch between 12:00 and 15:00 and dinner after 19:30 or 20:00. It is always a good idea to make a reservation in advance.
Customs and culture
Asking for a bill in a restaurant
Dining experience is very important in France and people usually take time to enjoy their meal. Don't expect your check to arrive half way though your desert. You can stay as long as you want and enjoy your time. When ready to leave, you can just make an eye contact with your waiter and ask for a bit (L'addition, SVP!)
Don't miss
Take a morning walk to a local market
Local markets are a big part of French culture. Take a stroll to enjoy fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, endless variations of cheeses, meat, fish and beautiful herbs. You can get some fresh oysters or tapas with a glass of wine on the middle of the market and watch people shop and have passionate discussions about whatever is in season now :))
