A neoclassical walk and courtyards to die for.
The most influential and notable families of Milano decided to build their palaces in succession on the new Corso Venezia in the XVIII century. Majestic buildings spared from being bombed during WWII are still aligned on the Corso. Some are strictly private, some others can be rented for luxurious events. But for sure all of them have a gate that can tip passers for a glimpse. Beware that if some doormen are nice and welcoming, some others stick to the rule of keeping strangers beyond the entrance, so try your best to enjoy this walk keeping in mind that these are private places.
Some institutional boards give few basic information about building name, architect and year of construction. From baroque to neoclassical, art nouveau to rationalism, Corso Venezia is an architectural tour that crosses centuries and styles within a few hundred yards.

Unknown to the most, even locals find it hard to believe that across those narrow and forgotten twisted roads there is a magical almost mysterious world of handicrafts, art, antique dealers, history and tradition. Do not worry if you lose control of your steps, it is what happens in this district.
Bear in mind that any gate you find open – and possibly unguarded – is a way to explore private garden and courtyards. In Milano they are a bliss of heaven that appears unexpectedly! Kindly ask the concierges to get a quick look inside and then leave.
