From my 1950s bungalow in Richmond’s West End, I can reach most anything I might need in a 15 minute walk: food, drink, clothing and accessories, fitness, a tank of gas, home goods and gifts, banks, and chocolate. The convenience is ... convenient, and the charm of the old storefronts, wide sidewalks and patio dining is a happy perk of living nearby.

Carytown is an urban retail district that still maintains a small-town charm, despite being a hub for tourists. Young people and singles make up a large portion of the residents, but everyone takes advantage of the dining, nightlife, and culture in this hip area. If you prefer to do your shopping close to home, living near Carytown's many small businesses will be a convenience. The Cary Street Park and Shop Center invites shoppers to enjoy its classic, art deco style and appreciate the convenience of its strip shopping center setup.
