Traveler advice
Getting around
Avoid lower powdermill One lane road
I personally avoid Lower Powdermill - there are plenty of alternative routes. If your on Birds Creek/Pittman center or Boogertown/powdermill just pass it by you will be fine. I also avoid Kings Branch and Gnatty Branch.
Getting around
Thirsty Bear Den Entrance - 1st house on the left.
The entrance to Thirsty Bear Den is about a 140 Degree steep uphill left hand turn. My wife can make the turn in her Soul (which puts her to the far right of driveway). In my truck I go past the entrance the length of my truck back onto cement area on neighbors drive than pull forward and turn. Once headed uphill it is slightly less steep the further left you are on the driveway. Don't worry it is level in front of house. When you leave there is room to turn around at the top. However try backing down the drive - stay on far left side all the way onto the street than pull forward.
Getting around
Thirsty Bear Lair entrance
Your private driveway is gravel. The cabin was built a couple feet from the back and right hand property lines. In effect making a big front yard and left side yard and no back yard. there is a large Coca-Cola sign on the front porch you can see from driveway and possibly the street. At night we have a led Coca-Cola sign lit up to help you find the location.
