Food scene
Reservations are highly recommended before you arrive for your stay. This is by far our favorite sit down restaurant in the area. It is great for the whole family. The cuisine is southern comfort at its best. The pork burger with rosemary chips, the meatloaf and chicken fried chicken are some of our favorites. Our kids even tried a more unusual appetizer of frog legs and really liked them! If they have chili as their soup of the day…Get It! 7mi drive, near Valle Crucis. $$

Stick Boy Kitchen is the furthest away from our cabin. You will have to drive into Boone where traffic can get busy. It is worth the drive!! Fresh breads, pastries, bagels, quiches, soups, salads, sandwiches, coffee...almost everything is made in house. We go here every time we are in town and have yet to have a disappointing meal. There are two locations so be sure to put Sticky Boy “Kitchen” in your GPS. Also, you can find some of Sticky Boy’s Fresh bread at Maw’s Produce right down the street. 10mi drive. $
