Sightseeing
This is one of my favourite hiking spots in the Sunshine Coast. It is absolutely breathtaking and only 1 hour round trip hike, with gorgeous bright blue and green water. The history of this park is in its name! It used to be an area where they would smuggle migrants in who escaped from the US during prohibition. Because of the shape of the cove, it made it possible to hide boats, etc.
It's a 28 minute drive however well worth it! It's in Halfmoon Bay.

For the avid hikers, this is part of a 180 km hut-to-hut trail that spans the northern part of the sunshine coast around Powell River called the Sunshine Coast Trail. To get here you'll need to take a quick and cheap ferry ride from Egmont to Powell River. There are multiple spots to start, ranging from multi-day to single day hikes. Most multi-day routes can be cut through for a single day hike. Among the most famous ones is Tin Hat mountain which has an adorable hut above that hiker's use to sleep in during cold weather. I've done 50% of this back in 2021 as a solo journey and highly recommend this to everyone.
