Neighborhoods

The area you will be staying doesn’t have much to offer in the way of shopping or groceries. The nearest Walmart is in either Artesia or Alamogordo NM. There is a little store in both Pinon and Weed but they have only the basic necessities. No restaurants in the mountains except for Cloudcroft or Mayhill so you will need to bring all the snacks and food you would like to eat for your stay. I have the fridge stocked with condiments and the kitchen has spices and the basics

Mad Jack's, in Cloudcroft, is definitely on par with the best of Central Texas bbq. Brisket, sausage and turkey has a good bark and peppery taste and still moist. Very popular in this area
