Part of the NC Aquarium system, Jennette's Pier is "hurricane proof" working fishing pier with wind turbines and a gift shop. The beach here is also nice and has a bathhouse and parking lot. Right across the street are a playground for the kids and Sam and Omie's restaurant - an Outer Banks institution. For snacks while you're hanging out on the beach here, try Cahoon's Market right next door. They have homemade salads and sandwiches as well as produce and gourmet items and beach gear.

Okay. This place is NOT a winery but none of the other subcategories fit. It is a wine shop with a wine bar with panini sandwiches and tapas style dishes. They also have more beers on tap than anywhere else on the Outer Banks. There is a pool table upstairs and they have low key, live music most nights in season. Its less than a mile away, so you could walk or ride bikes there.

This is a decent restaurant that is open all day for lunch and dinner and then becomes a bar scene at night. They are also a brewery and make some pretty good beer if that is your thing. You can do a brewery tour, too. They have a fenced in backyard that is open in nice weather with cornhole and a play area for kids. (It is NOT dog-friendly.) Pretty good brunch on Sundays.
