Quirky and unexpectedly tasty African cuisine. Always friendly service. Not suitable for vegetarians! This kind of small niche restaurant is what makes St Leonards an area worth exploring.

Popular local bakery. Lovely bread and cakes. Good quality coffee to grab a take-away for exploring the Old Town. Tasty, freshly made artisan sausage rolls made with local, sustainably-reared meat (I usually buy extra for the fridge).

Getting around

Buses & Trains for easy days out

Buses are an environmentally friendly way to enjoy watching the seaside and countryside on your way to St Leonards, Bexhill, Rye, Battle. Take bus 28 goes from outside my place down to Hastings main train/bus station. Or walk into Old Town for a scenic bus-ride into Rye. Download the StageCoach app (buses mainly run to published schedule!) or Trainline app.
