Reef Beach is just beautiful and surrounded by peaceful bush. I have seen a seal and a little penguin just offshore there on summer evening walks.

Walk along the rocks and over the headland. I've seen whales offshore and dolphins surfing the break from up there. The Boathouse is good for breakfast and lunch. Can be crowded on the weekends.

You can take a ferry to some hidden communities on Pittwater, walk to the lighthouse and look out over Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River as it meets the sea near Lion Island. A day trip but gives you a sense of Sydney's amazing northern beaches landscape.
