Espo's restaurant is a Chandler landmark. It's been family owned and operated for the 30 years I've lived in Chandler and I don't know how long before that. If you love traditional Mexican comfort food, Espo's is the place to get it. There's not much indoor seating, so be prepared to take out if you come at a busy time of day.

One of the salt river lakes, Canyon lake is in Tonto National Forest. The drive is about 1 hour and the last 30 minutes are a twisting road through the mountains/canyons. There are some great views along the way. Canyon lake offers hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, boating. There is a restaurant in the lake marina and a couple more restaurants in nearby Tortilla Flat. Note that almost all areas require a day-use "Tonto Pass" that you can purchase online, at designated stores, and at vending machines in the park.
