Parks & Nature
Point Robinson Lighthouse is a fun spot to check out and see the century-old marine protector. It's especially fascinating at low tide when the beach fully reveals itself along with the sea creatures who call it home. Great view of south seattle from the shore.

This jewel of a wild park sits on the southern tip of Maury Island and provides the hiker with a beautiful walk through woods to the shoreline. Secluded and perfectly quiet.

KVI is the most accessible and popular sandy beach on Vashon. Located in the Ellisport neighborhood, it's close to town and enjoys a view of Mt. Rainier's peak as it looms behind Maury Island. Park on streets not blocking driveways and pay attention to "no parking" signs in the area. Nice Southern exposure, and tidal marsh there, too.

Drinks & Nightlife
Home Sweet Home is the adjacent bar to Snapdragon Bakery. It's a cozy space, welcoming and a hub of lively and friendly conversation. There's a gas-flame stove that keeps the place toasty, and in addition to drinks, there's a vegetarian bar menu. I'm addicted to the cauliflower flash fried nuggets and poutine.
