GROCERY SHOPPING:
This is a low-key Whole Foods, the very first one, I believe.
There is also a Safeway on the corner, across from High School.
And a Good Earth market just down the hill in Tam Junction.

Take a walk through and around Mill Valley town. Check out the library, if it's open, and walk up Cascade to Cascade water falls just out of town. Wander the hills and streets around town to house-gaze. Although the truly spectacular are hidden from view from the streets.

Traveler advice
Getting around
Ocean View/Hike up Tam Valley - moderate 1.5 hrs round trip.
From our house, walk down the hillside steps below the trampoline/lower office. Take a right, go up the fire road. Follow and the road will branch, you can continue straight for a more direct steeper route or bear right and then turn left onto a single track (bike) trail that will switch back and take you to top of that steep hill. Turn left onto single track near top. It's an obvious trail. Follow thru eucalyptus forest to Rt 1 and parking for the Miwok trailhead. Thru gate and up Miwok Fire road to top for view - notice GG Bridge poking above the headlands.
Don't miss
Sunset view near house
You can drive up Erica Rd and turn left on Rt 1. Then your first right turn up to Panoramic Hwy (about 1/2 mile up Rt. 1). You can stop at the parking pullout for Diaz Ridge (trailhead gate on your left, maybe 1/4 mile or less) or continue on a bit further to any pullout for a big Muir Valley view over the Redwoods.
Getting around
Road Bike Rides
Road biking - direct from house. You can follow Rt. 1 to Muir beach, then continue to Stinson beach. From Stinson, you can either climb back up to Mt. Tam on Panoramic Hwy and follow back to Rt. 1/Erica Rd or, for a longer ride, with less traffic, continue past Stinson beach and up Fairfax/Bolinas Rd to then rollercoaster the West Ridgecrest Rd on Mt. Tam (stunning views) and back down to Panoramic Hwy.
Getting around
Moderate Road Bike Ride - Also a great sunset drive.
Up Rt. 1 to Panoramic Hwy. Follow Panoramic Hwy to Pantoll Ranger Station, turn right to ascend up Mt. Tam. Go to either East Peak or, I recommend, heading west on West Ridgecrest Rd. for stunning views over Stinson Beach. Then back down for en epic downhill all the way to the house. Keep in mind, Mt. Tam is a state park and closes at sunset, but plenty of folks go up to watch sunset.
Getting around
Mountain Biking
Wow. Go to All Trails or Trailforks app and check it out. For a great legal ride, you can go from house (see Ocean view hike info) to Miwok Trailhead, then cross street to connector trail to Dias Ridge. That takes you down to the Pelican Inn. Go across street and continue to Green Gultch Zen Center (yes, it's ok to go through the gates with bike) and then ascend Middle Green Gultch trail. Follow up the ridge to then descend Miwok fire road back to Rt. 1 and down to house.
