Drinks & Nightlife

Should be the picture next to the definition of "dive bar" in the dictionary. The unofficial "town hall" for many years. Not only harmless, but friendly with its own unique charm.

Beautiful spot. Nice people. Very good wines. A tasting here is a great way to spend an hour or two. You can also sit outside and enjoy a beer or glass of wine and eat from the food truck. Music on Friday nights in the summer, but get your tickets early. It consistently sells out

Been here a long time, but bought a few years back by the owners of Alex and Ani jewelry who pumped a LOT of money into it. It is a beautiful setting. The cafe is very good. There's live music outdoors on Thursday nights. I wish I liked the wine more, but tastes differ. You may love it.

Arts & Culture

My favorite live music venue of all time right in Fall River. Check their website to see who's playing https://www.showclix.com/events/26362. I promise you will love this venue. Bring your own food and drink if you want. They serve homemade cookies, coffee, soda etc. but no alcohol.

Every Wednesday evening for over 30 years, weather permitting, a group of musicians (including one of your hosts, Steve) gather on the fishing docks at the end of Main Road to play bluegrass and Americana music. People bring chairs to sit and listen. If you pay a stringed instrument, bring it and join in. It's free. Starts about 7 PM. Great little piece of small town New England. And Westport Sea Farms Oyster Bar is right next door.

New England's summer playground. Do NOT go on a summer weekend, but a weekday trip to any part of the Cape can be lovely mid-week. Go all the way to the end to Provincetown.
