Best ice cream around. Big portions. Good prices. Homemade ice cream. There are closer ice cream places but this is our favorite and in our option worth the 15 minute drive. Near a Walmart and Flagship movie theater.

Beech Hill preserve is a short hike up a rocky, open road with blueberry bluffs all around you. At the top of the hike, you can see Beech Nut a stone cabin with a sod roof that has been renovated in recent years. The views at the top are of Rockport and Rockland harbors, islands, and the surrounding hills. This is one of our family's favorite hikes.

You can walk out on the breakwater in Rockland harbor and walk around the lighthouse at the end. You need good shoes because it can get wet and you are stepping over gaps between the rocks. Not handicapped accessible. Hard for really young children. It would probably take at least an hour round trip. No cost.
