The pastry case will make you weep. The burgers are so luxurious, you'll have sauce rolling down your elbow. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. And with The Bar in the same spot, you can enjoy a Bloody Mary with your eggs. This is a quintessential brunch spot for power meetings in yoga pants. You never know who you'll see.

Mario Batali outdid himself by renovating this historical building on the corner of 7th street in downtown LA. A spill of natural light and 40' carved plaster ceilings, this location absolutely arresting. The hard wood floors and cafe tables catapult you back to the time of Bogey and Bacall. The restaurant has a great bar scene and an even better food scene. The service is impeccable, as the place is crawling with well-heeled staff. You can't go wrong with one single thing on the menu. The wood fire pizza is to die for and the butter lettuce salad is a perfect compliment to any entre. This is the perfect spot for the LA experience.

You can't come to Hollywood and not walk the Walk of Fame. These are the stars that built this town. Stop in Walgreens to find a historical book on the early filmmakers and studios. The El Capitan and Kodak Theatre are a people watching must. And of course, Mann's Chinese Theatre - originally Grauman's Chinese Theatre has the hand prints of stars of the Silver Screen. This is the quintessential stop for Hollywood Photos. Take Lyft or Uber for quick arrival and getaway. Parking is not an easy solve.

Sure it's a 3 hr drive up the coast, but then again, it's a drive up the coast! Why go? Because William Randolph Hurst built this town with his publishing empire, because he shamelessly kept a mistress and lavished her with opulence, because it's got indoor and outdoor pools, gilt ceilings and frescos, because it overlooks the Pacific ocean and sits on a hillside planted with botanicals from all around the globe, because he collected zebras and the lineage of animals still dot the drive to the castle! You must go to Hurst Castle!
