Sightseeing
Cathédrale Saint Michel de Sospel is a real cathedral (!) in this small town. Due to the frontiers nearby, putting Sospel on the route between Torino and Nice, and the desertment of the shores due to pillaging from the Moors, Sospel was actually one of the biggest and richest towns in the area during the 16th to 18th centuries.
Thus, Sospel had its own cathedral. The current one was built in the 17th century, and refurbished a century later. But the bell tower from an earlier church is still there. It dates from the 12th century.
