Food Scene
Ambiance, lovely, intimate and for those who had a hard time hearing in restaurants relatively soft and no music (woot!) to compete with conversation. Staff were lovely, chef made the rounds in a kind, unobtrusive way, very nice. Food was good, especially the linguine dish someone in our party ordered with some sort of pork and meat as well as "one of the best Caesar salads" as well. Also I did not reserve (did not know it was possible, it is!) and they were not at all snooty and found us a spot (it was early 6pmish). Tomato soup also got rave reviews. Another plus: Parking!

The menu changes frequently as the chef(s) are constantly experimenting and making good use of ingredients on hand (a concept that I love). Drink orders came out quickly (Blood and Sand, so good). We ordered the cheese plate which was a delicious assortment of brie, blue cheese and another cheese that slips my mind as well as crackers, honey, walnuts and green apple slices. SO GOOD. Because we are pigs and like to eat we also had the cracklins which we both literally inhaled. Coulda ate a few plates of those easily. So flavorful and spicy. YUM.
Main dishes: we shared the ling cod and the gnocchi with lamb ragu. Both were SO GOOD. The cod was prepared perfectly (not under/overcooked). The w

Just go a few steps up from the street and you'll find yourself in a quaint little garden and outdoor seating area by the entrance, complete with twinkle lights. 200% romantic. Inside, the restaurant is just as cozy. We were quickly seated and greeted by our awesome server who would continue to check on us and refill our waters through the evening. Food is on the more expensive side but we were celebrating our anniversary so YOLO. We ordered the three small plates deal and picked the falafels, beef tartare, and brussel sprouts, as well as the braised beef with couscous as a shared entree.

Quick service, friendly service, reasonable prices for breakfast (I can rarely get around paying for breakfast when I could have a week's worth of ingredients for a breakfast or two's cost), and a good location. Nothing special, really, but there wouldn't be regrets if you decide to give 14 Carrot a try! What I would call a good, reliable morning meal, at a fair price, with a friendly environment. Can't really go wrong.

Fantastic selection of excellent beers on tap. The food is excellent. There are sweets. The staff is welcoming and knows their stuff! This is a fantastic place!
Parking *can* be tricky, but frankly - it's worth it to me to pay in the lot, that's how good Mammoth is.

Drinks & Nightlife
The Zoo is one of the most definition dive bars you will find. Cash only. Beer/wine only. Lots of locals and regulars. Inexpensive. If you are expecting a high-end experience with highly attentive service or somewhere with a fancy website, not your spot.
Three active pool tables (and a fourth that's usually covered), a ping pong table, dart boards, skee-ball, and a few other games. Perfect for a chill Friday or Saturday.

Real swell! Ok, sometimes they have some absurd deal like $1 Highlifes! I think that is on Tuesday along with taco Tuesday that features something like $1 tacos. It is not my favorite taco Tuesday in town but it is pretty good. They also have other cheap drink specials depending on the night. Every time I come here I am refreshed by the pricing. The atmosphere is cozy, and it is a good place to take in a baseball game!

There is nothing average about the food or the preparation! Very creative and delicious!!
The oysters are a must have, we had two different types on the half shell, along with their house made bratwurst (curry!!), Hawaiian prawns, and braised brisket plates. Make sure to also try the Brussel sprouts...
Our waiter and the manager made it a super special night! Oh! And great beer and wine selections too! Just an all around awesome place!!
