This iconic rainforest is at the end of our road and accessible for prams and wheelchairs. Primary school kids love the suspension bridges. We have spotted wildlife like lyrebirds on most of our visits. The lower loop takes 30 mins and is always sheltered from wind heat, cold and rain by the rainforest canopy. For a longer walk, take the steep track to the falls.

Stunning coastal views with interpretive signs along 6 km walk takes you to the southern end of Werri Beach Gerringong. We usually arrange to leave a car at Gerringong and walk one way - heading south so the sun is behind us. This walk is dog friendly. Check the tides as the walk ends with a crossing of the outlet of the lagoon at Werri Beach which can be waist deep at high tide or ankle deep at low tide. Werri is one of our many uncrowded beautiful beaches and is famous for Werri Beach Fish and Chips - located about 500m further south. There is a picnic area with toilets where the walk ends at Werri Beach.

Visiting Jamberoo Butchery is a step back in time. Meet Peter who takes great pride in the quality of his meats and has been our butcher for decades. Peter goes to the local sales each week to hand select his beasts. His sausages are legendary! All meat and cold meats are cut fresh in front of you.

Stunning views up and down the coast are your reward after driving country lanes through the stunning Jamberoo Valley with a steep pinch at the end. This is the best place to appreciate the eroded volcanic culderas (remnant volcanos) which are responsible for the fertile soils that made Jamberoo Valley such a famous dairying area in it's day. This is another great place for a picnic. Adventurous walkers with sturdy shoes can explore the historic Hoddle's track which was once the main access to Kiama from the Southern Highlands. The track commences near the communication towers.

We usually drive via Saddleback to visit Crooked River Winery. It's fun tasting the wines. Some are a little fruity for my palate which is typical of grapes grown in a coastal temperate environment. The restaurant is expensive by local standards though reasonable value for well prepared French food. The views from the restaurant are stunning. Check out their site for live music and the wine festival held June long weekends.
