If you have time, we highly recommend taking the ferry over to the Olympic National Park. It is beautiful, peaceful and serene. This is an all day kind of activity. Our Little House has some WA state guidebooks you can use to read about the Park if you are interested.

The Ballard Locks are a very cool spot to see the US Corps of Engineers "boat elevator". The Locks are super old and provide passageway for boats between Lake Washington and the Puget Sound. The Locks have a large park with multiple gardens and walking paths too.
