This is our favorite ice cream. Everything is made in small batches from the finest quality products.
As they say on their web-site: "If we make a vanilla bean ice cream, we scrape the beans, if we make a lemon sorbet, we squeeze the lemons, one at a time. We use the finest bar chocolate we can use to make our chocolate ice cream. We are committed to keeping our ingredients real.
We like to make ice cream in forward thinking flavors minus the sensationalism, with respect for the classics as well. The butterfat is high, the air churned in is low."

Black Cow Burgers, Portland’s new hamburgers-and-cocktails bar, occupies an echo-filled, former bank lobby on Exchange Street. Chef Nicholas Nappi has built a terse, tightly focused menu of what he calls “reimagined soda fountain food.” Many of his ideas are fun and creative extrapolations of fast-food and diner classics. The best of these are a tart-and-creamy wedge salad and a crunchy, gooey grilled-cheese bookended by slices of homemade, English-muffin bread. - Portland Press Herald July 1, 2018

Peaks Island
Mackworth Island is a legislated bird sanctuary and is connected to Falmouth by a causeway at the mouth of the Presumpscot River. It is the former home of James Phinney Baxter and of his son, Governor Percival Baxter, and was deeded to the State of Maine in 1943. The island is open to visitors from dawn to dusk. The perimeter path is maintained by the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands. An outhouse is also available in the parking lot. This easy trail circles Mackworth Island and offers excellent views of Casco Bay. The trail surface is wood chips and packed soil, which may be slippery when wet, but the terrain is generally level, with moderate slopes not exceeding 10%. There are no steps or other major barriers to wheelchairs on the main loop. Small side trails follow steep slopes to the shore and may be inaccessible to some visitors. A new staircase with handrail has been added to a side trail on the south side of the island.

Also known as the Morse-Libby House, Victoria Mansion was built between 1858 and 1860 as a summer home for two people, Ruggles Sylvester Morse and his wife Olive. This spectacular summer home was designed by the architect Henry Austin of New Haven, CT, and is widely considered one of the finest examples of the Italian Villa style in America. Strategically located near the city’s earliest gas and sewer lines, the house was a model of elegance and convenience with hot and cold running water, flush toilets, central heating, gas lights, a servant call-bell system, wall-to-wall carpeting, and a 25-foot-long stained glass skylight.
Morse hired Gustave Herter, a German trained cabinetmaker and interior designer to decorate his summer retreat. Herter was one of the most influential designers in the United States during the second half of the 19th century. Today, Victoria Mansion is the only Herter commission that survives intact. Richly gilded surfaces, intricate plasterwork, enormous mirrors, and sumptuous fabrics combined to create lavish spaces of a palatial scale.

The downtown of Bath evolved as a function of many local, national and international factors. Foremost among them is the city’s location on the west side of a navigable, straight, 5-mile stretch of the Kennebec River, a site that has proven to be ideal for shipbuilding for more than 200 years. Whether as a means of transporting of lumber for building ships in the 18th and 19th centuries, as a conduit for national and international commerce, as a watery road to the interior, or even as a barrier to land transportation, the Kennebec River played a central role in shaping the city and its downtown.
