Food Scene
This much-loved fixture of Paternoster’s restaurant scene offers up a wonderfully diverse menu where you’ll be tempted to order one of everything. Start with a platter of the eponymous oysters, served as they should be: simply, with lemon and Tabasco. There’s salsa on the side if you must. The oysters are plucked fresh from nearby Saldanha Bay, as are the mussels, deliciously steamed the classic way with garlic, white wine and a splash of cream.

The unique and famous Pub, worldwide known as the Panty Bar, once served as a jail!
In 1974 Johan Carosini started the collection of "Honeymoon Panties".
Unfortunately the collection had to be taken down in 1983 after a Clergyman reported it to the Police as an 'unholy practice'.
...needless to say the police man, who was responsible for the confiscation of the panties, was thereafter called "Panty' Basson...
Giorello Carosini started 'collecting' again in the nineties – the collection is now more interesting than ever and still flourishing...

While you are at Tieties, take a walk right down to the Southern end of the campsite and you will eventually come to a single track path. It looks like you can walk down this path for many kilometers, although we probably only walked for about 1.5km in our investigation. We then turned back up over the sand dunes and headed back towards the campsite. If you take your time and maybe a flask of coffee, just sit and relax and enjoy the view for a while. Only then do you start noticing all the bird life — even though we had a couple of pheasants permanently camping at our site. We were surprised at how much wild life there was to be seen including field mice, tortoises, an

Shopping
Make no mistake, the quaint shop exterior is designed to make the whole retail experience a pleasurable one, but in all honesty, I could not get my head round those inflated prices! There is a lot inside to tempt a shopper, and to their credit, most of it looks as if it is sourced locally. There is such a lot of items crammed into a small space - reminding me of those general dealers in the platteland!
The ladies behind the till were not at all interested in engaging with customers, and therefore there were few if any purchases made while I was in the store.
