This is the best breakfast place around! And not just because it's 1.5 blocks from our door. They have great coffee, wonderful fresh juices, and we particularly like the Mexican Breakfast.

Best Vietnamese in the city. Pho Gao (chicken & cabbage) is the best thing on the menu, along with the Roti Beef Curry, Kim Chi Fries, and any of the bacos. Vietnamese poboys are delicious too!

Right on St. Charles Avenue, this vestige of old-Italian New Orleans is still making delicious, authentic Italian food like nobody else. And it's only 4 blocks from the house! Order Parmesan Chicken!

Great Tunisian food here, with the friendliest service in the world. Jamila is in the kitchen, her husband is hosting, and their son is waiting tables. Some nights there is even belly dancing!

There's a reason this place is never empty - it's delicious, it's inexpensive, and the quality is consistent. We love the vegetable bake, the kebabs, and the haloumi cheese plate.

Our favorite pizza, L'Olivier, is the best thing on the menu (but we can't tear ourselves away to order anything else, so who knows?). Solid French food with a very intimate feel - locals go here!

Wonderful tapas place. Service can be spotty, but food is always spot-on. We love the patatas bravas, calamari (it's different from what you think), and the sangria is yum!

Breakfast throw-back restaurant serves it up hot, cheap, and plenty greasy. There is a line out the door on weekends. Waiters are very chatty, which adds to the charm.

There's no category for "snoballs," the cool treat that comes closest to water ice or shaved ice for a point of reference. Chris likes green apple (TART); Erin likes nectar (sweet) w/ condensed milk.
