I can't seem to find the exact location on the map, but to the West of the pier and on the seafront is the "Beach Shack" bar with reasonably priced drinks and a lovely setting right next to the sea.

Forget the town, it's grim. BUT the beaches and bays are some of the best for miles. Water quality excellent and views stunning at sunset. About 45 minutes walk from Clacton.
