Culture Grub
84 The CutBargain Chinese. Most items are decent taste wise
It's been rated and reviewed as one of the better fish and chip places in London. You can even 'secretly' order Chinese food from the takeaway next door to compliment your fish and chips. Beware that fish and chip portions are huge

Pretty and touristy market for a reason, great food and drink options with a backdrop of Southwark cathedral. Now open most days except Sunday. Go before 10am to avoid the crowds.
If you're after a local vibe London market, check out "East Street Market"

Tasty Full-English breakfast in very nice 'back in the day' interior. Ask for a serving of 'fried slice' which isn't advertised on the menu as it's deemed too unhealthy these days ;-)

Have eaten here a few times now and can highly recommend this place if you're more adventurous and authentic with your Chinese food (don't think Cantonese!) My go to is a 'real' Gung Bao chicken, not the ones from many a standard chinese takeaway. Or even try the crab or "fish fragrant aubergine". It's popular with Mainland Chinese students living close by and also offers lunchtime specials. Quality is better than Culture Grub and slightly more expensive. Don't be afraid of dishes piled high with red hot chilis, it's only for flavouring it seems but I do eat them :-)

It's so close that I forget and rarely visit. I've yet to fully explore the new extension which is huge. Attend one of the various free informative guided tours on Tate Modern and some pieces of modern art.

Sightseeing
Crossing over Waterloo Bridge in the evening, the night lights are amazing. I like sometimes running in the late evenings along both sides of the river, criss-crossing various bridges when it's not too busy. I've recently done a run crossing all the bridges between Tower Bridge to Vauxhall Bridge, 10 in total just for sightseeing fun

There aren't any decent park spaces this central ... but for a bit of sun in tranquil surroundings, try this small bit of green space which was landscaped recently
