9 Rue Antoine MouresChristophe is an enthusiastic cook, who loves putting a new twist on traditional dishes.
Simply good pizzas in a family friendly place. Quirky old building, you must use the toilet! Service can be slow in the summer. Liseth speaks a host of languages.

Local wine producer. I remember many years ago when Olivier first took on the vineyard wincing over a glass of his early produce. I now buy it regularly, and he's winning prizes. The sparkling is good for celebrations. He has vintage ages named after his children.

Simply the best baker for miles, lots of different kinds of bread, cakes, also sandwiches if you need to grab something quick. Rudolfo is behind the counter most mornings covered in flour and hailing his familiar customers heartily. Conveniently next to fruit and veg, tourtons (traditional snack food - must be tried) and a very good butcher.

Parks & Nature
This is home to one of the national collections of old roses and apple trees. It has a chateau with a lake, ducks and BIG fish. A lovely modern take on the traditional terraced with the original gravity fed fountain. There is a map in the car park showing trails of varying lengths and incline. Getting to the top of Pic de Charance is a hike but well worth the view.

It's really the local villages that reflect the local culture. Although Tallard boasts a chateau which in it's time was a centre of power.

Sightseeing
Gap is the department capital yet it's still a small old town in the middle. Worth just wandering around the pedestrian streets and lingering in a cafe n one of the squares.

Essentials
A local supermarket, with a local shop feel. Not the cheapest though. Lidil in Gap would be the best place to go for a cheap shop.
