Conic Hill has fabulous views over Loch Lomond and, even though the track is a bit steep in places, it's an easier walk than Ben Lomond. Depart from Balmaha on the east side of the Loch.

The West End has Glasgow University and a life all of its own. Byres Road is the hub, with wonderful individual shops and cafes. Also worth seeing are the Botanic Gardens at the top of Byres Road with the stunning Kibble Palace glasshouse.
