This street was devastated in the 2011 earthquake and lives were lost here. There are some great stores and shops slowing returning. Much more enjoyable than going to the malls. Start at Bridge of Remembrance and walk right down to H&M. You are only a block from the square where you can see what is left of our cathedral.

Oldest and arguably the best boys school in NZ, wonderful old buildings, just next to the museum. You can have a tour of the school - ask at the office. Our son went to Christ's for 5 years, he loved every minute.

If you are visiting between June and October you should try to get up the mountains. Mt Hutt is a family friendly ski field with beautiful views of Canterbury plains. You feel like you are on top of the world. A great day out. You can catch bus and be back that night in ChCh.
