Drinks & Nightlife
Superb speakeasy cocktail bar, hidden in back of Cole's. No sign—walk to the nondescript door in back. Perhaps some of the best drinks in town. Small place, but these bartenders are true craftsmen.

A favorite. Whiskey Jazz Bar. Above Màs Malo (Not the bar on corner of 7th/Grand). Say hello to Tim at the door; Tell him Sev says hello and recommended you check it out. Live jazz at 10:00pm Sun–Wed.

Cool new rooftop bar. Great view. Crowd is kind of hipster, but I don't say that in a bad way. It was a mix of 'good-hipster' when I've went. Definitely popular place. Interesting crowd.

The infamous Standard hotel. Not my favorite—too mainstream/hollywood for me, but it's super popular. Check it out once, for the rooftop, but there are better bars Downtown, and even Hollywood itself.

Short walk away. Free on Thursday, I think. Check it out, if you want to see some modern art in LA.

Even if you don't get tickets for something inside, it's an amazing architectural site to just see. You've probably seen it in many commercials and movies. Everybody films this building.

The all-new grandest of the parks in LA, stretching 4 city blocks long in front of City Hall. Great place to chill, big music and community events like every weekend. Beautiful massive fountain. :)

Once an old steam-power plant underneath the street, now an uncanny and unique steampunk speakeasy probably unlike anything you've seen. Go, but know there's a dress code—and look for the green fairy.

I like a good whiskey and a good cup of tea. If you appreciate a good afternoon tea service, there's a full service traditional tea room in Little Tokyo. Not too far.

One of the best views in downtown LA. Usually packed on the weekends, there will be a line, but not bad on weekdays. Draws an strangely mixed crowd. Two rooftop levels, two bars, lower serves food.
