It's a one or two minutes walk from the flat and it's a GREAT little place. You can buy delicious sourdough bread there and they also do great coffee and breakfast/sandwiches etc They're sometimes open in the evenings for dinner and cocktails too.

Great little pizza place in the 'Artworks' near Elephant and Castle tube station. You have to order the one with rosemary and caramelised onions! It's AMAZING!

This is a well known Chinese restaurant. We aren't really big fans of Chinese food in general so we don't go there but people rave about it!

If you're looking for some cheap, delicious food, you can't go wrong here! The falafel wraps are delicious and they make fresh carrot and ginger juice too. More of a take-away place than a sit-down restaurant, although they do have tables too.

Delicious Turkish food with very entertaining waiters! Everything I've ever ordered there has been delicious and if you're lucky they might bring you extra little things for free too!

One of two restaurants I've listed here in the 'Artworks' in Elephant and Castle. This is a tiny but very nicely decorated French restaurant specialising in duck. The food is great (the chips with truffle mayonnaise are amaaaazing) and the waiters are French and very nice! Great cidre and belgian beer too.

This place only does Naan bread and chapati! But they make it there in front of you and it's sooo good! And they do a kind of wrap made out of naan and lamb and spices etc and it's £1.50 and so delicious!!! So I'm not going to recommend that you walk to East Street Market just to eat here (unless you really love naan bread!).. but it's a great place to have a snack if you are doing your groceries in the market. No idea about opening times though! I've only been there during the day and it's always been open.

They have jazz here in the Crypt every Friday night. They sometimes have things on on other nights too so you should check their website: http://www.jazzlive.co.uk/index.html
We've seen some interesting modern classical music there too. And it's very cheap for a jazz place - £8 I think. Probably my favourite venue in all of London. Different local restaurants provide the food there each time. So I can't guarantee it will always be good. But 'Falafel and Shawarma' sometimes do it and they're great!

Arts & Culture
I don't really understand most contemporary art.... So I personally wouldn't really go here for the art. But my arty friends think it's great! And the space itself is beautiful so if you're into contemporary art, then I can't imagine a better place to go to see it.
I DO however go here for the brunch! Especially on a sunny day because they have a beautiful terrace in the back. And the food is very good. If you can find it, there is also a really beautiful 'secret' park nearby. I think it's called Lucas Gardens. It looks small when you see the gates but then it opens out into a big park and it's always nearly empty! So go there after your brunch to enjoy the sun.

Essentials
This is a very good Turkish food shop that is open 24 hours a day. Very good fruit and vegetable section, more spices than a normal supermarket, and about 20 different varieties of honey! It has some non-food stuff there too like washing powder, soap etc
