Food Scene
Excellent cuisine, but open seasonally and only on certain nights - be sure to call first to confirm they are open. Ask for Jackie or Hallie as your server - you won't be sorry. The fried green tomatoes and shrimp appetizer is a winner as is the Key Lime Pie (unconventional, but EXCELLENT)!

Arts & Culture
The mission of the Matagorda County Museum is to collect, preserve and protect the county's cultural heritage so it is only fitting that the museum makes its home in a historical building constructed in 1918 as the Federal Post Office in Bay City. To those ends, the museum's exhibits include early Texas exploration, regional ranching and farming heritage along with a display of artifacts from the shipwreck La Belle, a 17-century vessel of French explorer Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle. There is also a children's museum exhibit.
