The animal orphanage at the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy is a unique facility to give orphaned, injured, neglected, abused or frightened wild animals a second chance. The orphanage provides shelter and professional care with the goal to release these creatures back into the wild where they belong.Preventing extinction by breeding endangered species for release back to their ancestral homes in the wild. Our bongo breeding program continues with great success. The rare white Zebras are finally safe from extinction thanks to our captive breeding for release program.Motivating our youth to become future conservationists. The Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy hosts over 10,000 students annually exposing them to their natural heritage for the very first time. First eye to eye contact with wild animals leaves an impression lasting a lifetime.
