Food Scene
It's not exactly local, but if you have a car and love Indian food as much as we do, you'll want to check this place out! So good! You'd probably be fine without a reservation but I'd make one just in case.

A great Vietnamese restaurant that's affordable, serves large portions and has a huge selection. We go here at least once a month. The pad thai isn't the best, but everything else we've tried is great. It's an 8-minute drive away.

Our go-to Chinese restaurant. So much food, very affordable, greasy goodness (but not as greasy as other places we've tried.) Eat-in or delivery/pickup. You get 10% off if you pay with cash.

If you're Canadian, you're probably thinking "Woooo. Tim Hortons. That's original." Actually, if you've been in Canada for more than a few days, you've probably noticed that the Tim Horton's are. . . plentiful, to say the least. But this is the first one that ever opened- the one that started everything! And it's nice. I like going here to work on my computer. Upstairs has some comfy seating next to big windows and a Tim Horton's museum where you can see old uniforms, menus, donuts, and things lke that. :)

Basic and cheap greasy spoon breakfast (bacon/eggs/pancakes etc, no fruit or veggies anywhere on the menu!). It's a 10-minute walk from the apartment. Cheapest deal if you order before 10:30am.
