It requires a drive, but this is our favorite breakfast spot. Amazing view of mountains en route and through their big windows.

This breakfast/brunch spot is hip and trendy so the line starts early and can be daunting. The brioche french toast is maybe one of the tastiest things I've ever had in my life, but I've learned that I need to get there right when they open or else I'm in a bad mood by the time I get through the line and then wait for it to come out.

Less than an hour from our house is the summit of Mt Wilson in the Angeles National Forest. This is where we go when we have had a bit too much of the hustle and bustle of the city.
Check the weather before you go...it is often colder or hotter than here in surprising ways!

There are many entrances to Griffith Park, but it is a beautiful amazing park right in the middle of the city! Among all the trees and terrain you'll forget you're surrounded by millions of people!
