Tips from locals
The highest peak in Costa Rica at 12,532 ft, it is a challenging hike to the top. But the views are well worth it! Must be scheduled in advance due to the amount of interest, and limits on the number of hikers per day.
If you want to hike to the top, please know all reservations are non-transferable and non-refundable. The Park requires each hiker to check-in at the San Gerardo Park Office, at the entrance to the village of San Gerardo de Rivas, by 4pm one day prior to hiking.
Chirripó is the highest mountain in Costa Rica, with a 3820 mts peak, great landscape and views. You will find some challenging hikes to the summit and can arrange with the Park administration for several nights. Approx. 2h from the farm
