Niño Dios De Las Palmas is a sanctuary and a pilgrimage site. It was found in 1775 and represents the peasant's religiosity, constituting one of the most deeply rooted beliefs of the population of this area that also includes Las Palmas, La Vega and La Dormida. The belief is so strong that for Christmas, up to 5'000 people, from which, some still cross the mountains hiking but most of them now come by special buses to ask for their miracle and to assist to the Christmas celebration and the "baile chino", ritual dance, mixed of christian and Pre-Columbian traditions. Only 5 min. drive from the property (your cottage). You can also hike there (1h round trip). It worth a visit all year round.
