Historic Old City Studio Apt Balat2

The apartment Balat2 is in a recently renovated, historic home. It is one open space with a double bed (Futon-Style), and a sliding door separetes a bedroom with a standard double bed / there is one with bath + wc and other one shower- A small kitchenette, which is sufficient to prepare small meals, tea & coffee. The communal roof terrace offers beautiful views of Istanbul, the neighborhood and the Golden Horn. It is a wonderful place to relax. There is another communal Turkish-style chill-out zone in the house. The apartment Balat2 is ideal for 2 persons or a small group of 4 cherful and friendly guests :)) The apartment is located in a historic house in the neighborhood of 'Balat'. Balat district was the home of the Greek Orthodox and Jewish communities in Istanbul. Many Greek churches and synagogues in the area tell stories of former neighbors. Nowadays Balat is a very charming, traditional and authentic neighborhood, where visitors can still get to know the 'Old Istanbul'. It is a safe area. There are food shops, small restaurants, bakeries, cafes, supermarkets and a post office very close to the apartment. It only takes two minutes to walk to the charming Golden Horn ('Halic'). The 'Eminonu' district is nearby. And the historical district 'Sultanahmet' and the lively "Taksim" are both just a short bus ride away. Mustafa, our angel for everything also lives in the building. He speaks Turkish only, but he is always happy to help and assist you. He will provide you with information about the apartment and also looks after everything. English, German and Turkish are spoken.

Golden Horn Views from The Saffron House in Old Istanbul

This historic 4-story Greek House retains its original ceiling and wall paintings, but has been fully renovated, and features objects d'art from all over the world. We use old furnitures and restored them the same way of the house and matching the colours of the house. There are many pieces coming from around the world during our travels and combination of old and new creates perfect place to live. There is full kitchen in the house for whom likes to cook in the evening. Owen, full size fridge, dish washer and washer / dryer is in the house. There are two air conditioning in the bedrooms for nice and comfortable sleep. You will have the whole house for your self and enjoy the beautiful facilities after your long day exploring our amazing city Istanbul. We live in the same street with the house so anytime you will need something we or our friends will be available for your enquiries. From here near the edge of the Golden Horn, stroll just 2 minutes to reach the water and original Byzantine walls. In the heart of Istanbul's old districts and on 1 of the 7 ancient hills, the area is gentrifying, but retains its historic charms. When you book the house we will send you our welcome pack which will include many information about Istanbul and where we live. Things to do, not to miss, hidden gems and restaurant suggestion which you will not find easily on tourist guide books. The apartment is on the 4th floor of the building, with three bedrooms, a living room and a separate terrace with a beautiful city view. It is situated in a very central location, district of Fatih, the European side of Istanbul. There is traditional shops selling cheeses ,spices and meat shops downstairs entrance of the building. If you don’t like the smell of them even for some seconds I would recommend you to rethink to book. In the flat, you don’t smell anything related to butcher orcheese.
