Protea Cottage. A place to connect with nature.

Original 1990 settler Cottage situated in a Native Bush Setting close to small creek. Tui and Bell Birds abound and a feeder is set up on the deck from where you can sit and watch them feed. Wake up to the dawn chorus. The Cottage is very private, set a short (5 minute) walk from owners house. Property is on a hill situated in 70 acres with Protea Plantings, Native Bush and lots of tracks to explore. Hosts happy to drive guests up to cottage if their vehicles are not suitable. Off Grid.

Little kitchenette with beautiful spring water and gas cooking outside under veranda. Sunny couch on outdoor deck. Super funky toilet block and spacious shower room just a short walk away on lush lawns. Gorgeous rural outlook. Ocean 1min drive away. Akaroa 20mins. No WiFi but excellent coverage on Spark network, average on Vodafone.

This unique contemporary cosy bus is fully self contained for your comfort with a hot shower, kitchen and bathroom and a pot belly stove. It has it's own private garden and parking. It is private, warm and tranquil, surrounded by nature. It is within walking distance of the Little River cafe and art gallery, and close to the rail trail (biking), bush walks, the Hilltop tavern for food and music, beautiful beaches and Akaroa. The bus is great for couples, and solo adventurers.
