Sunset house in Hydra(studio)

Our parents build this wonderful house in the traditional architecture of Hydra. The house is located in the picturesque fisherman's harbour of Kamini, more quiet and peaceful compared to the lively and cosmopolitan port of Hydra. It is 15 min walk from the central port of Hydra (along a scenic road next to the sea) or 3 min by water taxi. The route leading to the house has quite a few steps as all routes do in the town of Hydra but the spectacular view from the terrace make it worth the effort.

The studio is part of a bigger traditional old Stone house, fully renovated and with great view to the harbour. One reaches the houses in 10-15 minutes walk (and stairs) from the port depending on each person's pace. Hydra is amphitheatricaly built and there are a lot of cobble stone stairs around town and leading up to the house so ...not for everyone! A peaceful retreat away from town noises but so close to excellent choices such as Methana Volcano, Thermal Volcanic Spa, Ancient Theater of Epidayros, DevilBridge, Vathi fish taverns, Psifta Lake. The house is only 90 steps(usually are more than 200) from the Kamini sea side road but the spectacular view from the terrace make it worth the effort.

This beautiful two storey house belongs to a couple of prominent Greek architects who were captivated by the beauty of the island. They bought and renovated it in the 60s using traditional materials and techniques and working together with local builders and artisans. Cute little house in the traditional town of Poros island, located near to the port and close to all the required services (market, food, entertainment). Nina's house was our grandmother's home.It was built in the 19th century. The renovation was done with full respect to all the old elements of the house and tried to preserve the special atmosphere of such a place, simple, but with all the essentials for a pleasant stay.
