Gorgeous Serenity in the City with Views near Haight Ashbury Golden Gate Park

Settle into this amazing, light filled, stunning old San Francisco Victorian that I have called home for 23 years. With incredible south facing city and park views, relax in the open space of a large great room! Filled with character, this completely renovated Victorian has 118 years of history and stories to tell. We are centrally located to the culinary delights of NOPA and the Haight Ashbury / Cole Valley neighborhoods and perfect for walking and exploring. Take a stroll or go for a run in Golden Gate Park (two blocks away) and don’t forget to check out Ocean beach at the far end of the park. Let us know if you have special requests, we would love to customize your stay, offer recommendations of restaurants to visit or share the location of many great hikes or places of interest to visit here in San Francisco or just outside the city. Our available three bedrooms in the flat are great fit for families and groups up to 6 adults (2 per bed in queen size beds). The décor of our home is one of a kind in terms of family heirlooms, vintage décor, collectibles and amenities gathered from our travels though out the world including from trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Columbia, Peru, Argentina, India, Nepal, Morocco and Egypt and here in the US including San Francisco. If you love to cook, we have a gourmet kitchen with professional appliances (Wolf and Subzero) and a large dining table that comfortably sits 6 people. The entire flat is light filled and airy. This entire building was meticulously renovated and detailed by me and various craftsmen over the course of my 23 years living here and features a 700 square foot south facing great room with incredible city views of the park and twin peaks. Each room has been appointed with hotel quality mattresses and bedding and enough closet space for you to make yourself at home. Both bathrooms have been fully renovated and the entire home features radiant floor heating and dual pane windows to keep you warm on those chilly SF nights. Our home is stocked with books, games, playing cards and is a perfect place to unwind and relax with friends and family. Nest Learning Thermostats keep the house at a perfect temperature. A washer & dryer in the flat are available for your use. Bedrooms - Bedroom #1: Is one of two front bedrooms, features a queen wrought iron bed with a spacious dresser. The closet has stacked double hanging rods for tons of storage space. This room has a bay window looking out to St. Ignatius Church. Bedroom #2: Is the second of two front bedrooms and features an armoires as well as a large closet and a queen size upholstered bed. This bedroom also has views of St. Ignatius church. This bedroom features a chandelier original to the house. Bedroom #3: Is nestled in the interior of the house which makes it extra cozy and has two large closets, a large dresser and queen size upholstered bed. The Bathrooms - The first bathroom features a modern tub/shower, beautiful porcelain subway tile and herringbone bathroom floors. There is plenty of storage in the custom cabinets and vanity. There is plenty of hot water for a hot shower or relaxing soak in the tub. The second bathroom features a large shower with porcelain subway tile and herringbone floors. There is plenty of water pressure in this shower! Both bathrooms have organic and natural brand shampoos, conditioners and body washes. The Kitchen - The kitchen is well equipped with chef grade All-clad and Le Creuset pots and pans, Global chef’s knives and Laguiole steak knifes and utensils and serving sets. For coffee drinkers there is a burr grinder and insulated stainless steel French press. For tea drinkers a loose leaf tea pot. Parking - I am often asked if I have parking available in my garage. Unfortunately I do not as I keep my personal vehicle and a few motorcycles that I use on a regular basis inside and unfortunately there is no additional room. Street parking in the neighborhood is allowed at night and on the weekends. Residential parking permits for residents are required between the hours of 8am to 6pm However non resident may park during those hours for up to 2 hours. It has been my experience that parking enforcement does not begin until 930 am and ends by 330 pm however this is not guaranteed. Given a two hour allotment for non residents you are usually safe to park up to about 10 am and safe to park after 330pm with out getting a ticket or two hours during those posted permit times. Non residents may park on Fulton street west of Stanyan street which is about 2 block from my home. This street requires no permits however be mindful of the once a week street cleaning that takes place for a few hours and is posted on street signs along Fulton street. Amenities We have wifi and a number of amenities to make sure your stay is a wonderful one. I provide fresh whole local boutique coffee beans and an assortment of teas We provide organic laundry detergents and softeners for your stay as well. The unit features a smart TV with guest accounts for Netflix and Hulu. We are available and happy to answer questions about your stay and SF to make the most of your trip. Our location In the heart or center of the city just a few blocks from incredible Golden Gate Park, the apartment is within walking distance of NOPA/Divisadero street corridor of incredible restaurants, Haight Ashbury, The DeYoung museum, Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers, Stow Lake, plus many other great restaurants and shops. Transportation Many great options for public transit exist including metro light rail, Hayes 21 and Fulton 5 bus lines blocks away and of course Uber and Lyft. The Muni N Judah line at the intersection Carl street & Cole street stop is just 8 blocks away (10 minutes walk) and can take you downtown in just 15 minutes or out to the Ocean Beach. There are many places/kiosks to rent pedal and e-bikes “Bay Wheels” nearby as well. Walkable location - Walking Score of 96 makes us a walkers paradise And Bike Score of 93 There are “Bay Wheels” bike sharing stations 2 blocks away at Fell and Stanyan and 3 blocks away at Grove and Masonic There is a local corner store "Cindy's Market" at the intersection of Cole street and Hayes street that has a great selection of drinks, beer and wine as well as food and other items and an assortment of restaurants and coffee next door HOUSE SUPPLIES The flat is fully stocked with cleaning essentials, clothing irons, ironing boards, etc. We also provide cooking basics like spices and olive oils. Please let us know if you have a special request which can be purchased prior to your arrival. Accessibility For those that are mobility impaired please note There are 10 steps from the side walk to the front entrance / porch (This is fairly typical of most San Francisco homes). Perfect for a couple, two couples or single relocating (with lots of storage), or friends/family up to five. Both bedrooms have new queen beds with their own full baths (one with a two-person shower, the other a tub), with Starck low-flow toilets. Beds have locally made high-quality down duvets with allergy protectors on mattresses and pillows and quality soft microfiber sheets. Extra-long couch in living room sleeps a fifth guest. One bedroom has a long couch for an extra guest in-room. Pack-n-play crib for infants/toddlers. Amazing modern, wood and stainless sun-drenched kitchen has Jenn-Aire gas stove, farm sink, stainless built-in fridge and huge oak island. My wife is an amazing French trained cook, so the kitchen is well stocked. Living room has 50" 4K TV with all streaming services and a gas fireplace. Forced-air central heat and AC keeps things just the right temp. Washer/dryer in unit. Coded locks make entry a breeze. Wifi is blazing fast. Great relocation option, business or corporate stays, events or sightseeing, visiting relatives, or checking out the music or sports scene. Light rail goes directly downtown (4 min), stadiums (12 minutes) and the University of Washington (3 min). We know you'll love it here. It has a charming private feel yet access to everything. Private front porch or side patio French door entrances via keyless code. (Just a few steps up for those concerned about stairs). Amazing gourmet kitchen, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and Asko washer/dryer. Dining room has a table and chairs that can be moved out of the double doors onto a private patio for al fresco dining on gorgeous days. Each bedroom has a private bath. A guest on the living room couch will need access to a bedroom bathroom. Parking available for a car in our driveway or at a pay lot very close by if you vehicle is too large or you have more than two. If you want privacy to focus on business, you won't even know I am nearby. However I am always up for a chat, glass of wine, tasty beer or Seattle's famous coffee if you like to meet the locals. I would love to tell you about the neighborhood, city and what to see or leave you to relax in this amazing location. The hippest, oldest, diverse walk-able neighborhood. Classic 1900s single family houses close to sparkling new apartments. My house is tucked into a quiet corner of this vibrant neighborhood of shops & restaurants. Walk score rated as a Walkers Paradise & Excellent Transit. Capitol Hill station is four blocks away, ride share arrives in minutes at any hour, great nightlife, the best coffee shops in Seattle and all day and late night food & drink. It is all right outside the front door! Walk! The walk score here is near perfect at 98! Light Rail to Airport, Stadiums, Downtown malls and Public Market (Westlake and Pacific Place), Convention Center, Light Rail to the Airport (40 min), Stadiums (12 min), Downtown shopping (5 min) or University of Washington (3 min). Street Car to Pioneer Square, hospitals, or stadiums. Uber: Car Share everywhere. Car2go, ReachNow, ZipCar, Lyft and Uber always nearby in minutes and $5-10 to downtown. My wife and I have a small non-allergenic terrier rescue that we love, but... guests animals are discouraged because of the central location next to busy roads, hardwood floors and allergies of other guests. If you have one, please ask my permission first. Maddy is quiet, but does go nuts when the postman or UPS guy comes to the door.

Listen to the burbling river from the private hot tub to a mountain backdrop, while the deep jetted tub in the main bathroom is an equally welcome sight. The gourmet kitchen has a Viking stove, while the wood-rich interior includes 2 gas fireplaces. New luxury king mattress and bed in the main bedroom! This property used to provide the "Rooms on the River" when it was part of the Minturn Inn on Main street. Now this coveted spot is all for you. Tucked out of the way on a quiet street it's the perfect place to relax after a hard day of mountaineering. The apartment consists of the great room and the master bedroom suite. The master bedroom has a king bed, private bedside fireplace, en-suite bathroom with jetted bath tub, glass shower and hot tub right outside your bedroom door. The main room contains a queen bed with privacy curtains which has direct access to the main bathroom and shower. The main room also contains a full gourmet kitchen, breakfast bar, round table that seats 6, 50" tv with cable, and pull out sleeper sofa. The apartment opens directly out to the yard right on the river. The entire apartment is private including private entrance. The yard is shared with us, however we rarely use it since our children prefer the front/street side of the house where they can ride their bikes! My wife or I will often be out fly-fishing in our backyard river in the summer evenings. We're happy to share the space and tell you what's biting! Unfortunately, we are not wheelchair accessible. Or even high-heel accessible. Boots are recommend to walk through the shoveled path that takes you to the riverside entrance. There is a rope handrail to help guide you but you must be sure-footed. Our family of four live in the completely separate upstairs. I'm normally available for anything that comes up, but do not want to impede on your relaxing riverside vacation. Minturn is a small ski town away from the bustle of Vail and Beaver Creek. Stroll to several restaurants, a winery, quaint gift shops, a record store, and perhaps the best fly shop in the mountains. Ski, raft, and mountain bike just minutes away. There is free parking in the driveway. There is a bus stop a 3-minute walk away that will take you to Vail for $4. Ubers and taxis are also available. Our home and property is non-smoking. No pets please. Pack n' Play with fitted sheet in unit. Ironing board/iron, fan, extra blankets, picnic basket/backpack, hair dryer in each bathroom.
