A great place to go for some traditional Finnish sauna. You can also take a dip in the ocean. Has a good restaurant. I definitely recommend this to anybody who wants to get acquainted with Finnish culture. Be sure to call in advance to make sure there is room. Well worth it for the 20 € price. First sauna and then some nice salmon soup :)

Just a round the corner you can find a traditional Finnish sailor restaurant/bar. Not the fanciest of places, but if you like a good schnitzel and have a big stomach, this is your place. My favorites are the creamy "Salomon soup", "Kannaksen pannu" or if you are really hungry, go for the "Jättileike".

Simply excellent...that´s all I can say. In their own words: We offer scandinavian-european products seasoned with spices around the world without unnecessary trickeries. With potion and beverages side, we invest heavily with quality artisan handcraftmanship instead of quantities – beers are supplied for us by south Helsinki brewery Ohrana and with wines we favor personal european small winerys.

Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular with tourists and locals, who enjoy it as a picturesque picnic site.
The Swedish crown commenced the construction of the fortress in 1748 as protection against Russian expansionism. The general responsibility for the fortification work was given to Augustin Ehrensvärd. The original plan of the bastion fortress was strongly influenced by the ideas of Vauban, the foremost military engineer of the time, and the principles of star fort style of fortification, albeit adapted to a group of rocky islands
