A hidden gem. 7 different hot tubs and both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool. This is the original Icelandic Spa, Icelanders frequent these public pools a lot. Go for a short swim and then gosip and talk politics in the hot tubs. The pool also has a well-equied gym.

One of the very few bathing beaches in Iceland. This is the most popular sea swimming place in the capital area. Only for the brave and the Wim Hof Method loyal. The small enclosed beach has geothermal water warming it up and next to the changing room there is a popular hot tub. The area has fantastic walking and cycling path that leads from our apartment all the way to downtown Reykjavík. Two restaurants are next to the beach: Nauthóll and Bragginn.

Traveler advice
Customs and culture
Don't buy bottled water in Iceland
The tap water is amazing, it comes from a lava-filtered well outside the city, plus bottled water is harmful to the environment.
Getting around
Bus #1 to get downtown
Public transport is not so good in Iceland.
Two different apps are needed to organize trips and buy tickets.
"Straeto" for the planning and "Klappa" for the tickets.
The easiest way is to go downtown is simply to walk 10 minutes to the stop called "Kópavogsdalur" and take bus #1 directly downtown.
Traveling with kids
Frisbee golf courts are all over the city and are free
We can lend you our disks, there is one court within walking distance from our place, Green Gables.
Ways to save
Tuesdays are two for one at the movies (In English)
The movies in Iceland are always in English with Icelandic subtitles. Tuesdays are two for one. Smárabíó is one of the best cinemas in Iceland and is very close to Green Gables.
