Tips from locals
Best place in Reykjavik if you want to take a swim in the ocean. And after wards you can take steam bath or soak in the hot tube.
Nice beach during summer time - heated water and hut tubs. During winter time people bath in the cold sea and relax in the hot tub afterwards. It is a 3 km walk from Grímshagi. There is a nice restaurant Nauthóll next to the beach.
The best way to recharge is to take a jump into the (rather cold) Atlantic ocean at Ylströndin and then melt away in the hot tub and steam bath. It's free of charge during the summer time (15/05-15/08) and 740 isk during winter (16/08-14/05).
Nauthólsvík is a small neighbourhood in Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland, about 900 metres from Perlan. It has a beach with an artificial hot spring – hot water is pumped into a man-made lagoon
