Plas Newydd is one of several National Trust places that you can easily visit when staying at Wern Manor. (Others are Penrhyn Castle and Plas yn Rhiw). The historic house is of course worth seeing in its own right but my favourite is the mural in the dining room by Rex Whistler, a master of complex compositions that could deceive the eye.
